Market Development

Made in BC is devoted to developing markets for all forms of professional contemporary dance practice. We create opportunities for artists to perform and practice their work, throughout British Columbia and beyond.

Made in BC builds markets by building relationships: among networks, among presenters, between artists and presenters, and between artists and communities.

Made in BC’s Mainstage, Arts Outside and Community Engaged Practice programs all serve to build markets throughout BC in rural, urban, and semi-urban settings, among emerging and established presenters, both multi-disciplinary and discipline-specific.

MiBC works closely with our sister networks across the country, to share professional development opportunities for presenters, and to generate larger national tours. To this end, we have banded together in an informal alliance: The Alliance of Canadian Dance Networks.

National Meetings

All Alliance network presenters are invited to attend a roving annual conference, held in conjunction with a major local showcase, festival or event.
