On Friday November 24, 2017, during Dance in Vancouver, we had our Pitch Session as a part of our 2019-2020 Mainstage touring season. During this international dance conference, the Made in BC team also kept busy with our AGM, meetings with the CanDance network and meetings with the Alliance of Canadian Dance Networks. It was great to connect with so many artists & presenters and catch up on what everyone is working on, dancewise, all over BC.
The Made in BC Pitch was an opportunity for BC-based artists to connect with presenters from across the country & it was a success once again. As chosen by the Made in BC presenters, the pitching artists were:
- Ballet Kelowna: A Streetcar Named Desire
- Dancers of Damelahamid: Flicker
- FakeKnot / Ralph Escamillan: HINKYPUNK
- Hiromoto Ida / Ichigo-Ichieh New Theater: Birthday present for myself
- Meredith Kalaman: Femme Fatales
- Olivia Davies Dance (ODD): Crow’s Nest and Other Places She’s Gone
- OURO Collective: Tangent
- TomoeArts: Weaver Woman
- Wen Wei Dance: Dialogue
There are also many other artists on our online showcase who did not pitch but are also working on amazing dance works. For more information on these artists and their works, see the Made in BC Online Showcase.
We are now looking forward to helping these new relationships blossom and we are excited to see what comes out of this pitch session!
